Week 2 of the year

Monday the 11th of January started like every other Monday. A hot wind rose from the ocean and blew against my skin prickling the beads of sweat on my brow. I faced the car, again, the heat permeated from the paint work making the thought of climbing into the beast so inhibiting. It was Monday and I was going back to work.

Yes, it is another week in review and what a week it was or maybe wasn’t.

Weather

There was a little bit of rain this week, enough to make the place feel extra steamy, the grass grew too long and my sneakers got too soggy during training.

Work

Well work had it’s own challenges with everything continuing to die, the air-conditioner, the controller for the air-conditioner, the security door, a lack of cables, and the phone system not letting us call out.

Food

Dinners this week were sporadic and varied, home made pizza (yum), beans and cheese on toast, an indian curry, steamed veggies and veggie schnitzel. All much of the same. Maybe if someone would finish doing the dishes something more exciting could be made. I spent this week missing my inability to bake bread, not that I have baked a lot of bread during 2009, but now the bread machine is misbehaving “I want to bake bread”.

Family

The family achieved something this week. Husband found the missing diamond earring and that meant no searching the saved bag of cat poo, horray! We threw some stuff out, the old microwave, the dead office chair that has been dead for 4 years and a tonne of magazines. Go team!
